V For Vendetta (James McTeigue, 2005)

It took me some time to decide to write about V. I believe that all the good stuff about the movie, have already been written. It's no secret that the film written by the Wachowskis has become a cultural phenomenon and there is no doubt that it, definitely, should acquire this characterization. V For Vendetta is a mythical movie, a movie that whatever you say about it, it would be less than what you should say. It's quite possibly from the very few purely anarchist movies that exist out there. But I think that the biggest achievement of the film is that it is presented as a cool action piece and not some heavy, teary drama. And that combination of the comment and the incredible content of the movie with the spectacular action scenes is what drives this beauty to places that no other film has ever been.
V For Vendetta is a movie that speaks about everything that is political on this planet. It's not only the denial of the character V to put down his head and go with that fascistic regime, but it is also the humanity and the artistic temperament that he is keeping alive to this cruel and horrible world that he is living. V is the last human in a world that has forgotten what human means. V For Vendetta is a movie that summarizes everything about fascism and authoritarian state. It's the movie that speaks maybe for the obvious, but in a way that is so tangible and understandable that you cannot possibly pass without getting attached to it. V For Vendetta is a movie that rises the fist, where there is nothing left for humanity anymore. V For Vendetta is a movie that translates for even the most idiotic person, the vocabulary for resisting and fighting. V For Vendetta shows strength and character, when there is nothing left alive. I don't pretend to have written words that mean fucking anything to this film's mythology, but I believe that I have an obligation towards art to speak the things that fascinated me in this movie, a movie that really sticks in your mind and your heart and makes you feel human and whole again.
