This Is The End (Seth Rogen / Evan Goldberg, 2013)

Now, it comes as a big surprise that I didn't like that movie. Normally, due to its theme and style I would love it. But I think that sometimes, people, don't know where to say stop and proceed in another style. Meaning that This Is The End is a movie that gets incredibly irritating after some point. For example everybody who knows me, knows well enough that I love cursing in movies. I believe it to be the pepper on the food that is been served. Also is very well known that I have a dirty mouth when I write reviews. But the amount of cursing in that movie, made me really tired. It seems that whenever they had nothing cleverer to say they were cursing. And after some point that became a cliché. You were just waiting for the next second to hear another heavy bad word, coming from their mouth. That spoils all the fun of cursing. Cursing is a way of letting out the steam, not making a habit out of it. And it's funny to see that the more you were watching the movie, the more you understood that there was something deeply wrong with that screenplay that Seth Roger and Evan Goldberg wrote. The story might be interesting when you hear it, but really watching the movie, and going through the plot of the film, is a totally different experience.
This Is The End is a nasty movie. A movie that becomes incredibly tiresome, incredibly tedious and incredibly predictable after some point. You see those people behaving like major assholes, and in the beginning you say, "oh that's funny". And after some point you are fucking snoring and you think that the movie is worse than a dirty soap opera. You know it takes something more than a bunch of men and bottomless insults to make a successful movie. It takes spirit to make a nice movie. And regardless how dirty might your story be, you still need some pathos and ethos to make it. This Is The End is a movie made totally left handed and it surprises me the fact that it was so successful financially and that it was praised by critics. Dirty is a word that we all love and want in our lives, but there are also boundaries and frontiers to how dirty one thing can be. Making such a chaotic, noisy and finally worthless movie won't get you anywhere. Trashy is a thing that has rules. Even garbage do belong in a set of rules. If you don't have any rules in what you are doing, then this thing will be totally unwatchable. And I say it with great sadness that This Is The End is a movie that comes very close in being unwatchable.
