30 Days Of Night (David Slade, 2007)

Never before were vampires so evil, bloodthisrty and ominous. The vampires of this movie have nothing of the charm that you can find in these creatures in other films. Vampires in this movie are the epitome of malice, of death, of destruction. 30 Days Of Night is a highly atmospheric horror movie that takes place during the 30 days of night and it has that quality of a real vulgar movie that comes and brings genuine shivers to the audience. A truly scary movie, it's filled with ultra suspensful scenes that make your blood freeze as you watch the henious creatures eat one by one the citizens of this town.
30 Days Of Night is one of those movies that have that characteristic of being minimal to their story but plethoric to their scenes and suspense. It may be the movie that you can explain in one sentence but you will find difficult passing the atmosphere, passing the tone to someone else only in words. There is that quality in the film, that totally dark, ominous and mysterious one that comes as a veil and brings shadow to the movie and to the hearts of the audience. 30 Days Of Night is a pessimistic movie, a movie where the protagonists are hopeless against the menace of the vampires and the spectator feels that despair deep into his veins. 30 Days Of Night is  a horror movie that relies mostly on its aura, on its effect that it has and that effect is truly powerful and manages to bring to the audience some really authentic scares. 30 Days Of Night is one of the best selections for a winter evening, that will turn into a vivid nightmare and you will sit hopeless in your seat waiting for another gruesome death to take place. Beware of the flesh eaters, they appear when you least expect it.
