Pineapple Express (David Gordon Green, 2008)

Do you have your joints ready to burn? Because this is a movie that takes a lot of joints to make it to the end. Pineapple Express is a stoner comedy that has the characteristic of putting you in a mood for crazy things. You know while you watch that movie and that lunatic adventure that these two guys are involved, you wanna be one of them. You know it is dangerous shit, but that's exactly what excites you. You know that hide and seek, that trying to find the truth, that running away from the bad guys. And all of these with the company of the best marijuana you can find. That sounds definitely tempting. Pineapple Express is the movie that you pick up the day that you are feeling down. You know that depressive day when the world is treating you badly. And after some time, I assure that your problems will look minor issues. It's that deadly humour of Goldberg/Rogen that makes you wanna jump from your seat and go smoke yourself to death. It's this element of the movie that makes it so vivid and so real when in reality is a bunch of bullshit.  But that's exactly what makes you so enthusiastic about it. The way that it is manipulating you with that story. The way that it wraps its tentacles around you and you cannot escape the lunacy of the film. Pineapple Express is the movie that redefined the stoner comedy sub-genre. It gave to it a new breath of fresh air. There are a lot of movies about marijuana, but this is the most hip and the most crazy of all. There are so many joints smoked in that movie that you feel without you smoking that you are high. Pineapple Express is when your mother leaves you alone while you are young and you are watching the illegal movies. You know the movies that you are not supposed to see. Because Pineapple Express is the movie that wakes up some kind of beast inside you. And that beast has no other name than smoking that shit, man. You know passing the roach, inhaling that ganja, smoking that joint till your eyeballs flip from your eye sockets. Yes, there is no other, deeper meaning in that movie, there is only the love of the pothead. So be prepared for Pineapple Express and leave behind all your questions and your guilt and try to relax as you feel the flow of THC through your body and your brain.
Pineapple Express is a movie that celebrates the basic, fundamental joys of life. It's that type of film that combines the happiness of the pothead with the lunacy of a murder story. And somewhere in between we find our protagonists. Fighting to stay alive. Fighting for their right to smoke weed the whole day. Because what else will you do if not smoking weed the whole day. Is there something better to do? Of course there isn't. And the movie respects that rule making it a film that loves cannabis, loves the sound of the word, the smell, the high, the thing that we all love... It loves being a movie that probably has the biggest number of joints smoked than any other film. Pineapple Express is a movie that stays with you. You know after it finishes you feel blurry. You feel that you can barely walk. Which  is natural after all those joints that you smoked. Pineapple Express is what every good citizen does in his day to day life. Pineapple Express is the free expression of the things that we must shout out there. Pineapple Express is what makes a good day even better. And finally Pineapple Express is what all of you want to have but you are afraid to ask it. So all of you, light up your joints and be prepared for the journey of your life.
