Clearly the most underrated film of Quentin Tarantino, Jackie Brown is in reality a film that loves the procedure of making movies. Like Quentin said with the characters of Jackie Brown you can become friends. And that is clearly how it goes. The more you watch that film the more you understand that this ultra cool rhythm that is has, has a specific reason for existing. It's to get you into the groove. It's to make you feel comfortable and relaxed. It's to make you pay attention even in the trivial things of the movie. Because in that movie the trivial things are at the same time the most crucial. Jackie Brown is a film that bewitches you with its pace, that devilish pace where everything moves smoothly and gently. You feel that you are hit by a train filled with cotton while watching this movie. And apparently there is that sense that everything is going to be alright here. Not meaning that it will have a happy end, but that this environment that the film brings can only bring something good to the spectator, can only do one thing and that is to lift him up to the fucking sky. Because there is that feeling that you get while watching the film that you are flying, that you are flying in a very secure place, that you are among friends and that nothing can go wrong. Jackie Brown is a movie that is horribly underappreciated. There is no excuse for that, in reality we are talking about a small masterpiece. There is no reason why people never understood the huge charm of that movie other than that they have no taste and they don't get the little things, you know those tiny things that really make a difference. Jackie Brown is a wonderful movie that can be found in the details and that makes it a maybe difficult movie and probably more difficult than the other Quentin's films, but there is no doubt that Jackie Brown has nothing to envy from the other Quentin's films. It is and it will always stay a proud child of a mind that knows cinema better than a mother knows her child.
