Hard Boiled (John Woo, 1992)

If the world extravagant means anything to you, then this is a film not to be missed. Hard Boiled might be the action movie with more action than any other film of that specific genre. Incredibly choreographed action scenes that make the spectator want to jump from his seat, grab a gun and go out and kill some bad guys. The film is really a never ending action package with memorable scenes, memorable moments where the aesthetic of the vulgar and cruel is been married with an exquisiteness of the camera giving birth to a child that is wild, ferocious and mean to the bone. Hard Boiled is a movie that really shines as one the examples of Hong Kong cinema where the adrenaline is flowing like river from the mountain and the spectator is constantly in a state of utter panic, thrill and excitement. There is no doubt that we are talking about one of the best action movies ever made, with scenes that can be studied over and over again as examples where the creativity and the cleverness really hit the ceiling of the room. Hard Boiled is running faster than you can ever imagine, is racing really and it is a movie that grabs the viewer by the shirt and takes him on a ride where there are no safe belts, sidewalks and street lights. It is a journey to the very depth of hell, a hell that is been categorized as being noisy, filled with fires and endless, meaning endless bullets fired from all shorts of guns that you can imagine.
